Hi Ness!

See my previous posts re:drawer sliders/runners and hinges.  In fact, the link for the drawer slider/runner has an AutoCAD file for it.

As to the edging, I was not quite sure if I was going to do that.  In fact, I wouldn’t know the first place to get any.  I’ll make some calls tomorrow to see what I can find.  Stay tuned…

Side question: wouldn’t the edging also be for the bottom and tops?

Hi Christopher,

I’m back on my computer and have looked at your new draft.

The small sliver of an off set will have no incidence it the building of your project and will certainly not be seen.

So if you can tell me the hinges and drawer runners that you’ll be using,  we can set them up.

Another question would be do you need edging on the shelves and uprights?

If so what thickness?

All the best,

Ness

Just to let you know Ness was away at a meeting all day yesterday, and travelling back for all of today. Hence the delay in responding but he’ll be back up and running soon… Thanks for your patience.

Ness,

The previous post was speaking to the left upright in the top section…  You will notice that I centred the right upright.

Okay…  So I figured out that the default of the Tools – Units option was set with a precision of 1/4″…  I’ve now changed it to the precision of 1/64″ and I was able to move the upright over 1/8″.

But…  You will see that there is still a sliver (maybe 3/64″) that I should be able to move the upright over by, but no luck.  I cannot move it any further to the left.

See attached project…

Seems that I also unable to make 1/8″ changes…  Everything seems to get rounded to the nearest 1/4″.  Does the same happen in metric?

I’ll give the metric a try in the meantime as I await your response.

Christopher

P.S.  I have purchased my door hinges and drawer sliders.  The following are the details about them:

–  Richelieu/Blum 100 degree Hinge Clip Inset with Plate for door of 5/8″ to 3/4″ thickness.  The 35mm deep holes on the door are to between 11mm to 12.7mm deep, where the centers of those holes are to be at 22.5mm from the side of door and at 1/5 and 4/5 of the door height.  The product info and mounting schematics can be seen at this link: https://www.richelieu.com/ca/e…..1M27521180

–  Richelieu/Blum Series 3832 Full Extension Slide – UCT38322G20.  The specs and AutoCAD file can be found at https://www.richelieu.com/ca/e…..CT38322G20.

Hi Christopher,

If you zoom in and select the left volume Polyboard will display the inner dimensions. We can see that  there is only 1/8 to the edge of the notched cut out. So the max you can move will be 1/8upright-move-1.pngImage Enlarger

cheers,

Ness

Hi Ness,

I cannot seem to figure out what is preventing me from moving the left upright, in the top section, to the left by a 1/4″…  I get the following message, “The division cannot be place at the specified position.”

Could you have a look and see what is up?

Thanks!

Thank you, Ness, for the info on the biscuit joints and I will find out what information I can on the hinges and drawer runners.  Stay tuned…

As to the uprights for the top section, I’ll have a look later tonight and straighten that out.  I am also of the same thinking as you are.  I thought something wasn’t quite right with the project last night, but I couldn’t pin-point it.

Thanks again,

Christopher
