Hi Lee,

As promised here are the Vcarve files for newels and nested steps.

I’ve set up the template for the newels incase you want to use it for another project.

As I’m not sure of the post processor you need to run your Radecal CNC,  l’ve left it up to you to tool path the nested 8×4 sheets.

All the best,

Ness

Hi Lee,

Here are your Vcarve files.

I have done the following:

– modified the the original StairDesigner DXF files for machining saving them to DWG in the “watlington01v01-riser priority” folder

– cut the string 3 into 2 parts. I also made 2 examples of the cut, one straight cut and one with a locking cut. You can choose the one that suits you best.

– set up the Stringboard.Toolpath.Template to auto-tool path the strings.

– set up the Step.Toolpath.Template to auto-tool path the steps.

– made the crv files for the strings and a few steps. I haven’t done a crv file for all steps because I thought you might need to nest them. You can load these into Vcarve to create you machine files with the Piranha PP

If you tell me the material sheet size  I can nest the steps and risers for you .

If you want me to show you how to use the templates we can set up a Team Viewer session.

All the best,

Ness

Hi Lee,

The file that Stefan posted was not the complete tool data base.

Can you send me a copy of the files that are in : C:\ProgramData\Vectric\VCarve Pro\V8.0\ToolDatabase

I’ve also noticed that the risers are resting on the steps, do you want them passing behind the steps?

As well as this do you need wedged steps and risers or would simple housing be OK ? (simple housing with screws makes for muck faster production)

I’d also suggest that with your nesting machine and the thicknesses of your components, that you assemble strings to newels with a shallow housing of 5mm and screws through the posts, would this suit you?

It’ll be a good idea to go through your stair production to set up the appropriate templates, libraries and configure everything to work smoothly when you buy the 1-2-1 training.

All the best,

Ness

Hi Lee,

Here’s the files for your project.

I’ve set the strings to 25mm and created layer names in the DXF files that you can use in Vcarve.

We can set up a Vcarve template to import the DXF and you’ll be able to apply the tool paths without human intervention.

All the best,

Ness
