Monika,

1) Depending on what application you are trying to achieve. You can use drawers to make a draw box and edit that for the perpendicular panels you are after. There are also some other options, depending on exactly what you are trying to achieve.

Please refer to attached image. I created this through making a drawer. I created a drawer that was set down 10mm from the top of the zone (see hardware link in previous post). I then used the surface split (see link in question 2: Panel Design) to split the sides and I added a shelf as a bottom piece for the top drawer space.

2) Have a look at the link for Panel Design. This will show you some options for doors. If I understand you correctly, I believe the Thickness Split should help you here. Most manufacturers would be able to edge both boards as one for you. I would just mention this to your manufacturers.

3) There is no option for adding custom mouldings at this point in time. I recommend using another software to add a moulding after design or getting this action completed at manufacture.

Regards,

Isaac

Ok, thanks, I will do more research about the hardware, the recommended tutorial how to read a hardware specification is definitely a very good starting point.

Do you have any tutorial about doors:
1) how to attach left/right board, if it is possible to attach a panel to the door perpendicularly
2) how to create custom doors – one OSB as a base/background, and other OSB with custom shape attached parallel to the first board, and edging done on both boards as a one edge? – can I order this kind of edging in CNC production? or edging in this case should be done by me as a manual job?
3) how to add custom mouldings to doors, and boards if possible

Thanks for this last advice

Hi Monika,

I have had a look at Blum hardware and I am not sure if they have a range to cover this type of action.

My recommendation is to contact a Blum sales rep. and speak to them about what products they have that could meet your needs. Additionally, Hafele or Hettich might have options that you could use.

When you find an appropriate hardware I will be able to help you apply it to your cabinet in PolyBoard. Without it I won’t have any specifications to work off of, thus I will not know how to apply the components.

I will add three links to some websites that may be helpful:

Blum

Hettich

Hafele

Sorry that I can not help any more. If I come across anything that might work I will let you know.

Regards,

Isaac

Thank you Isaac, your video is very helpful.

Can you please advice about the bottom doors – what hardware should be added to achieve max opening of  45 degrees? any tutorial how to attach left and right board to doors? I have added small hand drawing, hope can explain better my idea.

Summary of questions:
1) one-click opening hardware from Blum – which one do you recommend will work the best? any additional settings I should think about for integrated doors?
2.1) how to attach the box of not standard shape to doors  (2.2) back of the box is one part, sides of the box are made of 2 separated parts, no floor/bottom in the box)
3) hardware for 45 degrees opening
4) hardware for soft close

Hi Monika,

Please see the video, I have run through your questions here:

Furthermore, please see the following link for information on manufacturing methods:

Also, see the final link for information on creating and applying hardware:

Let me know when you are finished and need the machining files, and if you need any more help.

I have a project, but unfortunately I don’t know what to do next.

I need to plan cam locks, hooks that will allow the cabinet to be attached directly to the wall, hinges, one-click drawers – soft close – preferably Blum, or any reasonable equivalent, as well as lower doors that are attached to the lower shelf, both doors should open a maximum of 45 degrees. Then I would like to send the entire project to the CNC order. Please advise what I can do next with the project. I will appreciate your helpZrzut-ekranu-2024-08-03-193744.pngImage Enlarger
