Hi,

Here is the answer from the developers and a modified cabinet

PolyBoard does not generate machining files for bars.

Therefore when assembled parts are set with bars (v/s panels), the bars
are not illustrated in the machining report, and their toolings are shown
next to the central panel, with relative coordinates.

This draws the attention on the fact that those toolings are located out
of the central panel, and should be machined separately on bars.

                                          ______________

Now if instead of bars the setting is done with panels, the part assembled
components will be displayed as independant sub-parts with their own
machining details.

Attached is a modified cabinet file (one door assembled with a panel frame),
as well as the corresonding frame machining PDF printout.

regards

Hi,

You do not have a typical built-in situation here as you have recessed the top and overpassed the top by using a groove type on your door. However, your door remains a built-in type.

You need to look at your rule in the fitting link, which is taking as reference the overpassing panel, which is still your top. So PB will take 100 mm from the top inside to drill your hinge.  In this specific case, you need your rule to look at the underpassing panel which is your door even if you overpassed it with a groove type towards your top. If you change the rule to underpassing the 100 mm will be correct according to your need.

I will pass the information to our developers and revert with an answer soon about the second question.

regards

Hi !

I have problem with wood-frame door hinge location.

From top or bottom edge my rule is 100 mm, but sample cabinet ( built in door) program adds top thickness of 18 mm. Door drilling  must be now 118 mm. Where is our not understanding?

Another question is print preview tooling outputs. Why we don’t see the hinge borehole measurement on door frames. There are no door frames in the selection at all! Print preview output show the central panel with the measure of the hinges, but it is not from the edge of the door. Important is to check the dimensions before drilling the holes in the frames ( drilling machine is manual not cnc)

I added a file in which the holes for hinges was wrong.
