You are right that our SketchUP download page is a bit ambiguous about what files you can load into the free version of SketchUp.

If you post your StairDesigner file or the 3D DXF files on the Premium Support forum we can send you a SketchUp file.
However, be aware that there might be some delay due to the Christmas holiday period.
