Hi Russell,
The CAM program we recommend is Vcarve because it is a simple cost effective tool that works well with all our software.
But of course you can use any other CAM software like ArtCam, AlphaCam, Enroute, DDX EasyWood, etc.
I don’t understand fully your question and problem about using Vcarve. We have many clients using Vcarve with StairDesigner that provides a very simple and effective solution to automatically create tool paths using a tool path template.
Maybe you need to configure either StairDesigner DXF output or Vcarve to work correctly together?
Can you explain a bit more and eventually post some example files?
In all cases you will need to sign up for Premium Support to access the support area of our forum and we could then take a Team Viewer appointment to see how your system is set up.
best regards,
Ness

Hi Russell, your/Brendan’s StairDesigner order included an offer for complementary Premium Support. I don’t think either of you signed up, full details went out with your activation code if you’re interested.
For specific software technical queries, you’ll need to sign up for that Premium Support offer and ask in the StairDesigner forum. That would also entitle you to mini screen share sessions – up to 15 minutes – if we cannot help you on the forum.
However, first I’ll ask one of our technical team to take a look and comment here at least in general terms and take it from there.
All the best, Stefan
This is a new installation
We had some training with the guy that sold us the CNC router 3 tool
My question is we use StairDesigner to create the stair pattern we want to cut the left right hand riser
We have left dxf files
What is the best program to use in conjunction with StairDesigner
We have tried VCarve pro and Artcam
Artcam is easier as we can set the tools and our profile
The problem we have is we when we cut left hand riser.
In the design it coming out in pockets.
If we remove the line in artcam or vcarve it take the whole line out and we cant even simulate the cut
So what is the recommended software to use with Stair Designer to easily import the dxf
Then to edit the file so we get no pockets and one zing sag run
same program would allow us to setup the tooling and wood profile extra for our router?
