Hi Blake,

Apologies for the delayed response.

For your setup, the tool change command needs to be configured for your drilling tools as highlighted in the image provided. Please note that the image is generic, so you’ll need to apply the correct values and code specific to your machine.

As OptiNest generates only simple G-code, you will need to choose either the T or D value for your drilling tools. Unfortunately, both cannot be used together or interchangeably at this time.

For your drill bank, I recommend checking the generated code to ensure it is operating correctly. While the simple G-code may call a tool from the drill bank, it will not support running multiple tools simultaneously.

Best regards, Isaac

Hi Issac

Ok so if the Tool changer is identified as T1 – T12 and the drill bank is D1 – D9 how would i have both set up?

Thanks

Blake

Hello Blake,

In OptiNest, you need to set the required G-code formatting for your tool change commands.

In the following image, see the command set up for Milling, and you can also set this for your Drilling tools:

Please note: These commands need to be specific for your machine, please do not copy the example within the image.

Further G-code parameter information can be seen here:

G-code output

Regards, Isaac

Hi Guys

I’m having trouble getting the G-Code out of OptiNest to have tool changing in the G-Code to tell the machine to change tool also i cant see a way to have a separate drill bank setup in OptiNest.

Thanks

Blake
