Hi,

I think you’re looking for this option

From Optimisation parameters > Advanced tab > Off-Cuts… > Select option “Use Stock follow-up Parameters”

Off-cuts.pngImage Enlarger

Else there is no specific option to force Off-cuts first

I’ll ask to dev teams, if there is better solution or if news option can be create

Hope that’s helpful, Alex

If this is set up this should prioritize using the off-cuts.

Refer to the attached image, this is a job I have used to test and there are 3 x off-cuts used. Even though they are referenced as panel 2/3/5, not panel 1, they are still being used. OC won’t always reference them as number 1 in the list.

I can continue to run some tests on this.

Are you achieving the same results I am achieving?

Isaac

Hello,

I have it set like this, but i keep seeing that the program still prefers using full panels if the optimization is better. So is there an option that regardles of the optimization quality it prioritzes the offcuts?

Hello,

My apologies, I will explain for OptiCut.

You can decide if you recover off-cuts or not in the stock options: Tools>Stocks Follow Up (see image).

When you recover off-cuts OptiCut will always first check these before going to full panels. If the pieces do not fit on the off-cut material, OptiCut will skip it.

If you need further explanation, let me know,

Isaac

Hello,

You are able to set a priority to each of your panels in your panel stock. Refer to image:

If your off-cut material has a higher priority to your stock material, OptiNest should choose the off-cut material first.

Regards,

Isaac
