Hello Anup,

Thank you for the document.

I would recommend the same method as I describe in the video from the previous post.

Regards, Isaac

We are presently using a 32 mm multi boring machine. So we need the drilling to be computed automatically as mentioned earlier too – Centre, Approx 50 mm away from edges, but in multiple of 32 mm from center so that entire drilling can be done in 1 setting. Also, this should be calculated dynamically as per panel dimensions
Please see attachment for reference
Another point to be noted, if there are adjacent shelves at the same level on the same vertical, the drilling should be offset on one shelf so that it doesn’t clash on the vertical panel
Please guide

Hello Omech,

A fixed distance rule needs to be reference from either the beginning or the end of a panel.

To set this rule in PolyBoard, you first need to select a fixed rule that is a set distance from either end of the panel (not the centre). Then, choose your multiple for a distance between fittings.

If you require this reference to be from the centre of a panel, you could set a single/centre rule, although this would need to use a fixed number of fittings and would not be variable depending on size. To make it variable, you would need to create multiple fittings for different shelf types.

Would this method work better for you? I can put together an example if you would prefer this.

Regards, Isaac

Hey there

Unfortunately I could not set this. My drilling is showing at 50 mm from the edges. I need it to be approx 50 mm away from the edges, but equi-distant from the centre in multiple of 32 mm

Please help with clear steps to set this

Regards,

Anup

Hello Omach,

I apologise for the delayed response regarding this.

If I have understood you correctly, this is very possible to complete. To set up your fittings and rules, you can see information and examples for completing that here:

Hardware and fitting examples

Regarding a middle fitting that is linked to a shelf width, this needs to be applied as a data range within the fitting rules. See information regarding this in the attached document.

Best regards, Isaac

For shelves in any cabinet, we require drilling as follows

For shelves greater than 450 mm,

  • Minifix in centre
  • Minifix at approx 50 mm away from each edge, but in multiple of 32 mm from the centre. For ex.  for a Shelf of 580 mm depth there will be a minifix at 290 mm (centre), and a minifix at 224 mm away from the centre on each side
  • A dowel will be placed 32 mm away on the inner side if the minifix

For shelves lesser or equal to 450 mm

  • Equi-distance from both edges but as per 32 mm rule (same rule as above, but no minifix at centre
