I finally got it!. It took me a while. I had to decompos it several times until I got the 3D faces. Thanks a lot!

Hi,

GOOD LEVEL NEEDED!

CAUTION BACKUP POLYBOARD FOLDER BEFOREHAND!

TOO BIG A MODEL COULD MAKE POLYBOARD CRASH!

To import Model 3d with 3dsmax and autocad

1* Download model from Hafele in DXF 2010

hafele-dl.png

2* open with 3DSmax

open-all-type-3dsmax.png

3* EXPORT to DXF autocad 2010

exporte-autocad-dxf.png

4* in autocad

Clear ALL draw en kipt only you need and decompose

it will give you a model with full in 3dface

clear-decompos.png

(you can move the center of one hole into x0,y0,z0 for easy positioning into Polyboard)

5* Save it to AUTOCAD DXF 2010

save-as-dxf-3d.png

6* in polyboard accessories, select cleared draw, select ALL 3D face and ok

7* You will need to GROUP them

Thank you Alexandre, I have tried and tried and nothing. It is just frustrating. Can you please share with me the dxf file you generated so I can try to import that one?

Thanks again!

Hi,

Polyboard recognises only 3D face or Mesh

For an easy way I’m using 3DS max, I open 3D model and export them to Autocad .DXF

BUT CAUTION BIG TEXTURED DRAWINGS CAN CAUSE POLYBOARD TO SLOW DOWN OR FREEZE!

Example with Hafele model open and export in DXF

Sorry for my French English ;),

Alexandre,

Hello, I’m trying to import dxf files from Hafele but it doesn’t work. I have even tried to import a simple design from SkechUp but it doesn’t work either. It doesn’t show anything to import on the window once I’ve selected the file.

 Thanks in advance!
