Zaheer,

There is no solution for 3ds Max that I am aware of.

We have had success rendering projects in both Blender and Keyshot.

See more information:

I use 3ds Max for rendering. Although 3ds Max can read 3ds files, the 3ds file format exported from Polyboard gives me an error.

Is there a solution to this, or are there any alternative programs I can use?

What’s important for me is to have software where I can import my Polyboard file, change the materials, and easily make modifications. I also need the ability to render high-definition images.

Hi Zaheer,

The best format to use in PolyBoard when exporting a 3d model is the 3ds format if you want your textures assigned.

The 3ds in PolyBoard is not the same file format as a 3ds Max (Autodesk file).

What software are you using and what are you trying to do? Is it for rendering or further modelling?

Regards,

Isaac

Hello, I am trying to export a project into 3ds Max, but I am encountering several errors:
  • When I export the file as a 3DS format, 3ds Max does not recognize it and gives the error message “improper file format.”
  • When I export it as a DXF, the imported file does not recognize the materials, and each face is treated as a separate entity.

Is there a way to resolve this issue? Or would you recommend using a different software to work with Polyboard?
