OfflineHello,
Please find below one more way to create a blind corner cabinet in Polyboard:

One thing I forgot to mention is that you can adjust the size of the door, and by extension, of the fixed panel, by moving the upright (FALSE_uPr) to the desired value minus the thickness of the cabinet side.

OfflineThanks for this Isaac, I’m having issues with the tooling showing on the door. But I think ill put a pin in this strategy for now as im not certain its working for us.
Andi, if I’ve understood you correctly, you can add one half of the shelf too each side of the vertical division so the tooling is present on the side panels, then simply combined the tooling on 1 shelf when you cut. Alternatively you can create one half, then groove out the right side of the shelf or the left side of the shelf and then simply copy the tooling to the relevant panel in the export for CNCing.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Tom

OfflineHi Isaac,
Thanks for this. I gave it a go, but ran into a couple of issues with how the cabinet would work in practice:
We often avoid using the free shape cabinet because of the notch in the top and because the door doesn’t overlay the carcass. This makes it difficult during installation to create either a corner post or an end panel that finishes neatly in line with the door and the rest of the cabinets along the run. Hopefully that makes sense.
The main challenge is usually achieving equal door widths while also controlling how the return from this cabinet is constructed and finished. Our boxful method is tops and bottoms are generally inset to sides and back, while our backs overlay everything cabinet.
I’ve attached an example project showing how we would normally finish these returns. Another issue we encountered was allowing enough clearance to prevent the handles from opening into the returned unit.
I appreciate that I’m covering several points here, but they all relate to a wider challenge we have in translating certain PolyBoard designs into practical, neatly finished installations. I’m open to any suggestions on how you think this could be modelled or managed more effectively? As you will see, For now I use nil vertical panels, to control the blanking panels and door widths. Then place an end panel to meet the overlaying door. That is where the returned cabinet has a filler to finish.
Cheers,
Tom
