Tom,
I am setting this problem as closed post our session today.
Let me know if there are any more problems with this.
Regards,
Isaac

Hi Isaac,
We’re also cutting a live job right now and it is missing the drawer runners (i’ve uploaded the cabinet to the chat). Even after deleting said drawer, and re-adding a new one the runner isn’t showing in PB. This is the shoe rack project we’ve been discussing. Most drawers are fine, I’m not sure why creating a new drawer doesn’t add new runners?
In conclusion, we urgently need to discuss drawer systems in general as I think it now affects multiple projects happening right now. We’ve just heard back from your team regarding the upgrading PB session as well, I do wonder if that should be delayed to accommodate the fixes first?
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Isaac,
So after deleting the drawers, and re-applying them without editing anything, just add drawers it seems to work, and when I change the bottom zone, it affects things. But i’m still unsure how to dial in the drawer to meet the clients needs. And I’m also unsure what I’m plugging in will be exactly what is given on-site. As mentioned, we’re encountering alignment issues with Blum Movento undermount runners and drawer boxes in Polyboard, and it’s impacting a specific client project. I’d appreciate your insights on whether I’m missing something in the setup, or if there’s a workaround to achieve consistent results for our drawers.
Answer to your questions:
Was this cabinet an older saved file?:
No, its fairly new
Maybe methods have been updated since its creation?:
Not that I’m aware of? We’ve played with the bottom zone and top zones to dial in the drawer, but at the drawer box creation level, not the back end of the methods.
Or, was this drawn new recently?:
Yes lets say within the past week
The Client Problem
To give context, here’s the client brief we’re trying to address:
- They need drawers to store CDs (top two drawers) and DVDs (remaining drawers), with spines facing upwards for easy browsing.
- Their minimum usable height requirement is 145mm per drawer (based on CD/DVD dimensions oriented this way).
- Our current design has drawer heights of 125mm (CDs) and 135mm (DVDs), which they’ve pointed out won’t suffice. They’re also unclear about the total usable height, including the gap above each drawer, and whether it accommodates their needs.
The client’s feedback has us second-guessing the drawer system’s reliability, especially since our on-site results don’t align with the 3D model. They’ve asked for a side elevation view with dimensions, but I lack confidence in our current setup to provide an accurate response.
My Questions:
- How can we configure Polyboard to ensure Blum Movento drill holes align consistently at 9.5mm from the drawer base, avoiding on-site discrepancies?
- For a client needing 145mm of usable height per drawer (including box height + gap above), what’s the best way to set up drawer boxes and runners in Polyboard? Are there specific settings we should adjust (e.g., slack, clearance, or runner positioning)?
- Could someone share an example setup or side elevation export showing how to achieve this?
I’ve attached a rough sketch from the client illustrating their desired elevation for reference. Any guidance would be a lifesaver – thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,
Can you please send me this cabinet?

We have an issue with the drill holes for Blum Movento Undermount Runners. They seem to be positioned higher than would be expected. Blum technical data suggests that the screw holes should be 9.5mm above the base of any drawer. However, when we input the TOP SLACK and BOTTOM this data seems to move the drill hole locations in relation to the bottom of the drawer.
If we are working to tight margins (as we have done in the past) we notice that the drawer boxes can sometimes hit the top of the cabinet. I think that there is an issue with the parameters within the Blum Movento runners or, we are not correctly understanding/interpreting the way drawer boxes are created?
