Hi Tom,

I’m guessing that you want to machine the groove to house the strip.

The best way to do this would be to create a hardware element with the groove that gets applied between the top (or bottom) and the side or upright.

Best regards,

You can create this with a new shelf ( Tools > Preferences and new Division > Shelf)

And set all sub-methods you are using with this new element

I am wanting to place a shelving strip (tonk) down the sides of each bookcase. I would like both grooves cutting into each side along with each strip. I have attached the strip. They come in set lengths, but will obviously either need cutting down or extending depending on length of bookcase.

I am wondering which method is the best for this application i.e single panel fitting or using a fitting link (or some other)? I currently have shelf pegs set-up as a fitting link for the majority of our adjustable shelves and ideally would like to use the bookcase strip in the same way.

Kind regards
