Hi, to answer you final question about printing the drawings…you’re using the free version of Polyboard. This doesn’t output the drawings or any other manufacturing documents. You need to buy the full version of Polyboard to do that.

The alternative is to use the CabinetFile service, details here: https://wooddesigner.org/cabin…..e-service/

This is a paid service, although very soon the cut list processing element will be included in your subscription. All the best, Stefan

Hi Kyj,

Thanks for posting your project.

There’s no problem to design your projects with Polyboard.

To help you set them up correctly we will need a bit more information.

Here are a few preliminary remarks and suggestions;

For the CD cabinet to get access to the back you need to eliminate the back using the general properties menu.

To make composite veneered panels you can set up a panel with the finished thickness or you might also use the “thickness split” command to have the cutting list for the veneers.

What sort of sliding doors are you thinking of using and are they sliding the whole width or separated into several doors?

Are the sliding racks drawer within each section?

If you could post a drawing, sketch or photo of what you are trying to achieve this would be useful.

To help with the top cabinet and shoe cupboard, again a drawing, sketch or photo would help make things clearer.

It would also be a great help to have some photos of the environment that you are designing for.

The more information you can post on these projects the easier it’s going to be to help you.

In all cases a drawing is worth a million words and I always strongly suggest that you post complementary drawings, sketches and photos as much as possible.

All the best,

Ness

Hi there,

I have subscribed full membership recently and am trying to design furniture before discussion with a designer to renovate my home.

can i

– design a cd cabinet with back and front racks and the racks at front can slide with soft sliding rails say blum or hafele and also adding sliding doors to them (plan to use 3/4″ or 1″ thick plywood covered with 2-4mm wood sheet (please see file 3a)

– modify a hanging heavy duty bookcase to fit 8″x8″ beam from the ceiling, making a drawer with a divider between the back and front but can slide out as a single drawer as a whole; change the front of the drawer to glass so that the decorative stuff put in can been seen (the back of the drawer is parted with wood for storage) (please see file 2a)

– design shoe racks that can be pulled out (due to limited space) like trolley with tilt layers(z shape) and shoes cab be put in and out from both sides (please see file 2b)

– why designs cannot be printed

thank you in advance for your advice
