Maybe something like this?
But from classic cabinet, I think it was easiest to use Free Shape
The difference in Free Shape you must be drawing your cabinet from Top View
Even if the free form allows for complex cabinet, one should not be deprived of the simplest cabinet too

Hello,
I'm possibly being a bit slow here, but I'm trying to make a chest with a top opening lid. However when I remove the top of the cabinet, add a double back for the front, polyboard does not allow me to to add a door for the top.
I thought a way round this may be just to rotate a standard cabinet 90degree along the x axis so the top is now the front, therefore allowing me to then add a door. I can't seem to be able to do this either.
