Hi Gary,

The way to draw triangular walls is to use a cabinet panel, the triangular window can be made with an inner tooling cut out. In this case you might have to draw the exact triangular shape in CAD or create a secondary triangular cabinet applied to the wall.

For the fire place the easiest way is to draw a low wall, take a face on photo of the fire place and apply as a texture onto the wall, here’s a quick mockup:

Floating shelves are just a cabinet with shelves from which we have eliminated the carcass outer panels:

To eliminate the outer panels use the Properties menu:

I attach the Polyboard model so that you can see how this is done.

All the best,

Ness,

I really appreciate your response to my questions!  I think I can proceed now, but I do have one question. You sent me a model, but I can’t figure out how to copy the attachment and get it into Polyboard – can you give me the steps to do that?  When I click on the file it opens up with a bunch of special characters. I thought it would open up in Polyboard.

Thanks!

Gary

Ness,

Forget my last question I figured how to get your model into Polyboard.  I looks perfect and something that I can modify!

Thanks again,

Gary

Hi Ness,IMG_6074.JPGImage Enlarger

I downloaded the Polyboard software and the libraries last week and have been struggling a bit.   I figured out how to use a lot of your functionality by looking at the videos on your site.

Your software is fantastic – I really like the way it’s designed and It makes me want to get into cabinet building!

We are remodeling our kitchen/family room and we are having trouble on picking a design that we like for the family room.  There are existing cabinets in the family room that we want to replace with a more modern look.  We have a designer who only does elevations so it’s hard to look at those to imagine what it will look like.  I googled 3d cabinet design software and found your product with the purpose in mind of being able to build and rotate a design.

Attached are some pictures that show what the current cabinet looks like and some elevations of a potential design.  The new cabinet will be white…. And with or without floating shelves.  I’ve also attached my project file which I hope you can read.

I can’t figure out how to do the following:

  1. Put the odd shaped window on the angled wall – and actually draw the angled wall and draw the window
  1. Draw the fireplace, the stone, and place a mantel on top of the fireplace.
  1. Make a floating shelf

Any help that you give me will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Gary and Pam Meissner
