Hi Ness,

I would like to apply dominos primarily to establish accurate costings. Being able to apply a unit and tooling cost can be very helpful especially on larger projects.

Also useful for the designer to specify multiple dominos on a joint to give stronger joints.

Kind regards

Tom

Hi Tom,

Sorry to say that this is not actually possible.

Styles and rails can only have mortise and tenons.

Why do you need this?

I wouldn’t have thought that it necessary to mark out domino positions on a frame.

Applying dominos with a side stop or jig will automatically position them.

Best regards,

Ness

Thanks Ness,

My main difficulty is applying this to the door assembly. Please can you advise on how this is done?

Hi Tom,

To setup dominos you have to make a domino hardware element using a groove. Here’s a screen capture of the hardware setup:

Then place it as any hardware either with a specific domino rule or a standard rule.

Hope this is helpful,

Hi, Please can you advise on how I can change a door assembly to use dominos  instead of tenons?

Thank you
