drillings on gables |Forum|WOOD DESIGNER

Hi,
if you want to start at 50 from the top END bottom you have to calculate the distance between each drilling
Because from the CENTER is a repetition of hole with a given step that you provided to Polyboard with the threshold distance in which it should not drill, but it would seem to me totally useless to waste time for some that millimeters (a maximum of the center distance divided by two)
If you select the top now then it will go to a fixed starting DISTANCE, then a repetition with a given step without exceeding the THRESHOLD on the bottom
and conversely if you select the bottom, it becomes a fixed starting point of going over the given minimum threshold
For through drilling
You need to create 2 toolpaths in Vcarve: one for non-through drilling for the sides for example and another for through drilling for the vertical divisions.
see the difference in the video below

Hi Alex
re 1st cabinet so what you are saying is that we need to calculate and work out the distance between the drill holes first we cant just assume that polyboard will do what we ask as in 50mm down and up from the top and bottom internal, we have to manually put in the “distance between 2 drillings” ourselves???
I think i understand re the second cabinet i have done what you said in the post pro thats set now, so when i go to vcarve and the toolpath use same tool and depth as per regular drillings i use as always (depth of drill 10mm)???

Hi,
For first cabinet regular drilling to be equals from top and Bottom like your setting where in “Threshold” mode
that would like to said PolyBoard can’t make drilling into 50mm from top and bottom zone, divide the available distance with option
“distance between 2 drilling” here 3 spaces of 45mm with 4 holes in center of cabinet.
Second I don’t see regular drilling on Vertical division left side
If you do not have drilling control activated by zone, you can select the whole bottom zone, and here add the drilling on both sides of the vertical division at once
and here if it selected in Post Pro opposing drilling are mergeas a through drillings
All the best Alex

Hi Alex
we cut out the right hand side panel of unit (file attached) I set the regular drillings at 50mm from top and bottom as you can see but they drilled out at 80mm from top and bottom of panel even taking off the 18mm top panel or bottom panel it nots working out right. Also when cutting out the panel one side did not cut see vcarve file also
Can you take a look for me
Also I have attached a cabinet Tall Larder 900w with adj shelves we are cutting 6 of these, but with the division we want to drill the hole through the division for the shelves but how do I do this when i go to nest them they may nest with the side gables which we only want to drill 10mm on them not through hope this makes sense
Thanks Caroline

Hi,
I now understand you should never do like this, because indeed the top and bottom fixing links now follow a zero panel, and the regular drilling in the area thinks it has 2x18mm more.
if it is a part to be redone, it is known that if OptiNest launches automatically, each part is exported separately in the export folder, and it is this part in question which can be reused directly in vcarve
you can do a test with a simple cabinet export on the desktop, close OptiNest directly, and in varce load only one side in this export folder
Hope that’s helpful, Alexandre

Hi,
Can you upload file where missing screw drillings
If screw drillings on OptiNest, they should be there too, If you open only one part directly on Vcarve
All the best, Alex
