Hi,
Yes, this is very clear!
But to date, the only solution would be to have a separation between the right and left sides in the Sub-methods.
like in “Cabinet Boxful Sub-methods” and “Materials Style”
Cheers, Alexandre
Hi Ness/Alex,
I think in both your solution we are applying an additional Panel.
What we want is to change the Cabinet RHS/LHS panel to the shutter Material.
I have attached 3 cabinets here , NSE , LSE and RSE.
The steps I follow are
1) Create a NSE cabinet
To change it to LSE
2) If the top is overpassing , make it underpassing
3) Change the material from Cabinet to Shutter Material
4) Changes the Edges of the exposed panel ( With the shutter color ) to the Edgebanding of the Shutter on all 4 edges
The Problem is , if we have a Laminated door we have a 2mm EB , if its a Acrylic board we have a 1.5mm Edgebanding.
We need to create the LSE , RSE and BSE with the shutter material for each type of Edgebanding.
This is very laborious , time consuming and error prone.
If we create a new Module in the Library , we need to create 4 versions ( NSE , LSE , RSE , BSE) and also for all the types of Edgebanding that we use. If there was a method that we could use , it would have reduced all these versions.
Hope I am clear

Hi Shafeek,
The best way to create your models with decorative end panels is to use External zones.
You should first set up a special panel type for the end panels that will also allow you to apply automatically a specific edging material.
Here’s a quick video that shows how to do this:

Hi Shafeek,
Regarding the first question,
You don’t have another solution if you edit the cabinet structure.
For the second part for edging I need more information from the developer team because I see a potential anomaly Polyboard.

Hi,
We have a library of cabinets that have been created with No sides exposed (All sides made with Cabinet Material)
We need to make versions of the same cabinet with Left Side Exposed (LHS side piece is made with Shutter Material) , Right side exposed and Both side exposed.
The Plan is to open the “No side exposed cabinet” that has been created and manually change the Material ( and over/underpassing priority if required) to create the LSE , RSE and BSE (Both side exposed). Is the best way to go about doing this ?
The other issue that comes along with this is to assign Edgebanding on the exposed sides. Is there anyway we can use an Edges Style Sub method to change all the four edges of an exposed side automatically . We have different thickness edgebanding like 2mm and 1.3mm.
Its a huge effort to change the Edges for different edgebands for all cabinets by opening each one and manually changing the Edgebands .
Regards
Shafeek
