Hi Christopher,

You can select the cutting list option. There you can select net or overall dimensions

Net dimensions are the dimensions without the edge thickness

Overall is edge thickness included.

Hi Michel,

Does the software take in to account the thickness of the edging when making a design?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Christopher

I created an excel sheet for you that would add brackets on the side that needs to be edged.

If one side only you will see 1 bracket, if 2 sides you will see 2 brackets. Would this work for you?

You can try this by changing 1 and 0 in the column H, I, J, K  results showed in N, O. If ok this list just needs to be tuned properly for use.

Hey Michel,

I appreciate what your saying but I need to export this to show long and short edge, not top and bottom for my manufacturer. If I cannot get the software to do this its not really saving me any time at all because I would still need to go and manually enter the edging data.

It would be good to have a chat about it further, maybe help me get this set up. I have not had my free 1 hour set up yet anyway.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Christopher

We never had any issue on this side of the software. A shelf would be the same as a top or a bottom. Same view . It is very easy once you get use to it . I guess this counts for every bit of software 😉

front  = right side

back = left side

left side  = bottom

right side = top

If you want we could do some mini share screen session to explain it to you. Just let me know.

Hi Michel,

But how does this relate to a shelf as this would not show as a panel in the right direction?

Got to be honest starting to feel a little frustrated about the software, this is something I would of not been aware of until purchased which I feel is a bit unfair.

I would appreciate a call about this and how to make it work for me.

Thanks

Hi Christopher

the view is always as if you look at it from the left side of the cabinet and this for every panel

Hi Michel,

Is this as you look at the design on your computer then?

If a draw has sides (Left and Right) the top edge would be the one you see when you open the draw?

The right edge is the front edge of the cabinet facing you as you look at it?

The left edge is the back of the cabinet if you where looking at if from behind?

The bottom edge would be the bottom of the side of the draw if you where to look at it from underneath?

If you could confirm that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Christopher

I understand that it sounds confusing but you can see it that way

The right edge is the front side of the panel

the left edge is the backside of the panel

the top is top side

the bottom is bottom side

Whatever the length of it.

you cannot change this in polyboard but what you can do is export the cutting list as a CSV file and import it in a template that you made in excel. In that template, you can call the edge face the way you understand the best and assign the column coming from PB accordingly.

Here is a link to a video showing this
