Hi Ryno,
In your cabinet the hardware link of side to top is using 2 separate hardware + rules.
1 for the cam and dowels as one unit and 1 for the middle dowel.
So in your case you just have to delete the middle dowel:
If you want a specific sub method for this case just duplicate the in cabinet method and rename.

Hi Ness,
I saw that the “Apply the rule to the surface split” did not actually removed the dowel but placed it in the center of the rail.
Attached is the file.
It would be great if you can give me a “sub-methods” solution to remove the middle dowel in the top rail.

Hi,
I have a dowel and cam fittings method that puts one dowel in the middle of the side panel of a base box unit and I use top rails. So to take the middle dowel out if there are rails I change the “Apply the rule to the suface split” to Yes to remove the middle dowel.
Now I have to do it with each unit because I can’t find the setting in the sub-method.
Is it possible to have the settings “Permute Faces” and “Apply the rule to the Surface split” in the fitting Links sub-method as well?
