Hi Rafal,

Sorry to get back so late but I had to consult the developers to get some precise information on your problems.

Here’s the reply of Jade Hatem of Boole :

——————————

Hello Ness,

According to our records, Rafal Meckovski is using the PolyBoard Hops Post_Processor.

We hence assume that he is referring to the “Grooving by sawing” mode, because the
“Grooving by milling” mode is done on a multipass basis, and is not always centered
(its position follows the groove slack position option of the sub-method).

In PolyBoard 6, “Grooving by sawing” is always identified by the groove axis (centered)
because this machining operation is not handled by PolyBoard, but by a Hops macro.

Therefore if Rafal Meckovski wishes to modify this mode, he must intervene directly
on the corresponding macro, but this is outside the scope of PolyBoard.
______________________

Improving the control over the tool selection is a matter that we are currently discussing,
and which is a bit more complex than Rafal Meckovski’s view.

This matter must be thoroughly analyzed before we extend the current settings.

Best Regards,

Jade Hatem

So if you want to have an outline for the grooves set the groove option to Milling.

I hope this is helpful,

Wishing you a very happy Easter week end.

All the best,

Ness

We have few problems with grooves generation and tool choice.

1. Is there an option to generate bounding lines of the grooves instead of center lines of tools? I am aware that I can use single panel fittings or inner toolings for that, but it takes time.

2. Is there a way to have a greater control over which tool is chosen for each operation? It seems like we can only choose 1 tool per operation type per project/cabinet. Yes, we can export the project/cabinet few times with different tools and then merge files in one folder or modify .hop file, but it takes time. The most optimal way would be to include the tool choise in submethods, but unfortunately this option doesnt exist.

Thanks in advance!
