Erik,

1)  When working on a project, you can select the Modify Styles tool, and then view all of the Panel materials used across the project. See the following image:

Modify-styles-tool.pngImage Enlarger

Additionally, all hardware is operating off of the Manufacturing Methods that you had selected for your cabinets. These are quickly adjusted or removed through using the sub-methods. See more information for that here:

Manufacturing Methods

Also, each door can be named as seen in the following image:

2) Job plans are as attached. You are not able to break individual doors and drawers into sub-construction plans. You can have a visual of the overall cabinet, and the individual components.

3) For the 2D_DXF files, these are exported in mm. This is standard for most machines and manufacturers using these files. See below, I have also attached the same files in inches for you.

4) You are correct, the groove here is for the legrabox drawer system. I do not see your screen shot sorry. From what I can see, this is the drawer system attached to this cabinet within the Manufacturing Method you have used.

5) Yes, you are correct here. It is a 1/2″ groove. The X-position should be to the centre of the groove:

Hey Isaac,

I appreciate your help with my first project and all of my questions about this.

I noticed a few things.

1) I had a couple of boards that were wrong material / size that were setup when I went through and updated all the hardware rules which didn’t seem to work correctly. I don’t know if that is something that you were able to redue the output or not. It was completely different than the rest. It was setup as a random generic item and not the rest of the build materials. I noticed it when I imported the cut list into the excel template. I also Named the doors because I didn’t know I could. I tried to rename other pieces and it wouldn’t work, but all the doors and drawers have the same name and it was confusing me.

2) I don’t see full assembly or an exploded view of each cabinet. I also don’t see any full build of the doors with sizes or the drawers with the sizes.

3) When I tried to view the DXF files in say autocad viewer, it wouldn’t convert to inches for the measurement tool. It was very very off. Like for example it would say one of the door faces that was 500 mm was over 50000 inches.

4) I am looking at page 49 of the PDF Inches and I am trying to understand the groove vertical face 2 x-position. Is this saying I need to put a groove there? Because there is not suppose to be a groove on the bottom it was just supposed to be a solid piece and slide in.

         – Thinking about this it might be because of the slides? I did notice on Page 18 in the Costing Report. There are Legrabox slides, which I did not choose. I was using the Tandom drawer slides. Maybe it isn’t setup correctly? I attached a screenshot of the settings. I guess I could just ignore them. I don’t recall the Tandem requires a groove because I offset the wood enough not to need it I believe.

5) Same question on page 50. This back drawer says to put a groove at 4 1/4″ with a half inch. it is supposed to be a 1/2 groove. Is that just the center of the groove?

Hello Erik,

Regarding your files:

– PDF’s: These provide individual material cutting lists, and completed cabinet assembled images with the manufacturing information of each individual component.

– 2D dxf: These files are component files in dxf format. These files can be viewed on a CAD/CAM package, and used for CNC machining.

– 3D dxf: This is a 3D model file, used for 3D modelling software and integration with other 3D software packages.

– 3ds: This file is another 3D model file, good for higher quality rendering of the model in an external software.

– CSV: You will see multiple cutting lists in CSV format, separated for bar materials and panel materials. These can be used as CSV data for a more manageable cutting list. Usually this is the best option to use for a cutting list.

– XLS CSV import template: This is the format the CSV’s are using. When importing the data and labelling the data fields, follow this format.

These should provide the manufacturing data for the project. These are all the export options provided for a cabinet file service.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

Best regards, Isaac

Hey Isaac,

Would you be able to explain the best way to use all of the files given to me? I see there are 2 large PDF’s which have most of the stuff in it, but than I see a lot of other csv and dxf and other stuff

Also with this export, Is there a way to see the door dimensions? and drawer boxes

I understand the cut lists, but the rest of the PDF is more so just instructions on drilling and groove, but there is no full assembly markup on the pdf

Hey Isaac,

Lets go with overall and i can manually adjust it if I need to. I did notice that some of the edges were on it and were supposed to be removed, but I don’t see a qty on the demo. so overall would be better so I can manually alter it if I need to be.

Erik,

Usually this depends on the edge banding machinery for a factory. If an edge banding machine has pre-milling then a company would use overall dimensions, and net dimensions for machines that do not have pre-milling.

See the following snippet for overall dimensions:

See the following snippet for net dimensions:

Hey Issac

is there a way to make it display both?

can you show me a sample of how each would be displayed?  i am needing to know how much to cut the board to a measurement before edging but i do need to know the true size before and after edging
