Increasing Groove size on drawer boxes|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER

Hi Elliot,
Yes add the slack to the groove thickness.
You said that the material was 5mm thicker, I’m supposing that you meant 0.5mm?
cheers,
Ness
Hi Ness, thanks for this – i thinks its a combination of the tooling being slightly under the 12mm as stated on the tool and the material being slightly over the 18mm that its meant to be.
If i was to add slack in the grooving and oversizing presumably it would be on the ‘thickness’?

HI Elliot,
The groove on the drawer sides is in the Drawer sub method.
The width of the groove is set by the thickness of the panel used for the drawer bottom.
You can add slack to this by using the Groove and oversizing submethod.
However, from what you say it seems that you’ll need to change the thickness of the drawer bottom material.
All the best,
Ness
Hi im trying to increase the size of the 18mm groove (10mm deep) on the bottom of the side of the drawers and i cant see where is this in the fittings – i can see the 2mm / 18.4.
The material that we are running for this job is coming in at approx 5mm thicker so need to allow for this.
Please see attachment.
Kind Regards
Elliot
