OfflineBuilt in please Isaac, just 1 drawer inside the box so I don’t waste so much materials, then I can test these 167mm sides into a working model to test. If all works out and we’re happy we’ll then proceed to the next step which will be setting up a session to understand how best I can work with and manipulate these drawer boxes.

Fantastic, thanks for this.
Could you make it so its just the 1 drawer please? When i try to remove a drawer all the tooling etc disappears. For some reason my drawer face tooling ends up on the sides??? Also it only appears to show 2 drill holes the the drawer face in your version. My understanding is that there are x4 holes on the drawer face at 167mm height? If you could make that change that would be great!

Yes you understood well. We firstly need to create a singular drawer box with 167mm side heights, and its a 450mm deep drawer runner to test the system inset. Then we will cut and build it. If everything works out, we can then we can then book the session as you said, and go through things.
The 2 challenges are 1, lets see how it is physically put together and test the runners. Then secondly too figure out how to manipulate things in the software and creating this as parametric as possible.

My recommendation is to book a short session so that we can go through the drawer methods.

Thanks for your email, I really appreciate the time you put into it. Chris and I went through everything and had a really useful discussion.
There’s a couples points I’m not quite following yet. After adding the runner rules as shown in your example, the tooling didn’t appear on the drawer face, and I couldn’t see where the drillings were applied. I may simply be looking in the wrong place, but I haven’t been able to locate them.
Also, setting drawer heights I’m not able to dial in as expected, this could be a sub method thing.
Chris also mentioned that he’d like us to standardise some rules for the internal drawers using Matrix S runners. The thinking is something along the lines of:
Side height + 40 mm = minimum internal clearance above the drawer box
We also discussed introducing a maximum limit. Our thinking is that the space above the drawer box should not exceed half the height of the drawer box itself. When I tested this, I think my boxful method may have conflicted with the side height settings, depending on whether the drawer back was set to underpass or overpass.
I was wondering if this could be set up parametrically?
These rules would only apply to internal wardrobe drawers, while everything else would continue using our standard drawer method. At the moment I’m just not fully clear on when these rules should trigger, when the methods should change, or whether this could all be handled parametrically.
