Patrick,

Currently, this can only be completed manually. Depending on your project, there may be some further actions that may make it faster for you, but I will need a copy of the project to confirm.

Hi Isaac

I can do that but what is really needed is the option to be able to set the default for a project to one of the options i.e. Straight edge + in most cases for 2D cutting.  Its a real pain to go through and identify every edge in multiple complex cabinets to make sure that every bevelled edge has been set correctly.

Thanks

Patrick,

I believe that I understand, and yes the chamfers need to be manually adjusted.

If you want me to look at this in more detail, and see if there is anything else that could be done, feel free to send me a cabinet file and your parameter file.

Regards, Isaac

Hi Isaac

The setting was already set to ignore.  So what happened was I had a cabinet which tilted in 2 directions on the top to fit in an ugly space.  I forgot to set the bevel to straight edge + so the automatically it was set default.  The outcome was that some cuts did not output and the small geometric patterns close to the cuts were in the XCS files and translated into an issue in the nesting.  Ideally, there would be a way of setting what the default should as in our case it will always be Straight edge plus.

Cheers

Patrick,

You can turn off your chamfer export to Maestro. To do this, go into your post processor and look for either the heading Bevel or Chamfer (this has recently changed).

Set this to Ignore and you will no longer have the pocket in your export.

Hi Isaac

The angles are not cut on the CNC as its a vertical machine so I use Straight Edge+ so that the cut is made vertically along the correct vertical line so we can cut the angle with the saw after following the edge cut on the CNC.  The issue is that the “default” which is automatically applied is crating a small machining in the output which translates into a geometry in Maestro that does not make sense to the machine so it stops mid cycle.  If I use straight edge + this does not happen as it outputs the straight Edge PLus vertical cut and not the extra squiggle.  Hence the question of defining the default so that it does straight edge plus and cuts the 2D cut in the right place so after we just cut the correct angle in Z along the cut edge using the saw.

Cheers

Hello Patrick,

When you import angles into a design, PolyBoard will automatically share panel priority between the two panels in a joint. This needs to be manually adjusted.

Are you planning to manufacture your angles on the CNC machine? If this is the case, there are a number of PostProcessor options for angles. If you are not wanting to manufacture them with your CNC, then I recommend turning them off in your PostProcessor and you wont see them in Maestro.

Best regards, Isaac

Hi Gents

I had a situation where I had an angled cabinet in 2 directions.  When using the default bevel setting for the cut rather than setting it to Straight edge +, the output created tails in the nesting through Maestro which stopped everything mid cycle when cutting and we had to go in and delete the tails to get it all to work.  Is there a way of making the default Straight edge plus as that solved the issue but means a lot of checking either in the model or in the nesting?

Thanks

Patrick
