Part rotation and Edgebanding in cutlist|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER

Hi Antony,
To move your licence on a new computer, you’ll need to remove the full version from your old computer and send us the Uninstallation Code.
Please do not uninstall the software as you normally would with Windows.
You will not get the code you need that way and will not be able to get it later either.
Instead, navigate to and click on the Uninstall.exe file to extract the code.
You should find it on your hard drive under Program Files/Boole & Partners/Software Version.
Send us the Uninstallation Code and the User Code for the new computer.
We’ll then give you a new Activation Code to set up the full version on your new computer.
Please use my email address to send me the codes and I will proceed your new code.
Have a nice day,
Carole
Dear Ness,
We are using the ASCII cutlist to cut panels as these give net dimensions. We have configured the PP for overall dimensions so that we can use cnc machining after edge banding.
We are trying to change it in the spread sheet now. Will get back if we have any clarification.
Meanwhile I wanted to change my laptop and have polyboard installed in it. what is the process of it
Thank you

Hi Antony,
Is your question about part rotation 1 or 0 to do with the cutting list ASCII export or the PP Report file export?
If you use the cutting list ASCII export, 0 signifies a part that has no grain ( so can be rotated) and 1 a part with grain (only 180 rotation allowed). This cannot be changed.
The PP report file is different, the Rotation Allowed (0,1) option it can be set up to export 0 if no rotation is allowed or 1 if allowed. This is effectively the opposite to the cutting list ASCII export.
So if you need 0 for no rotation and 1 for permitting rotation use the PP Report file.
If you absolutely need the ASCII export to invert the 0 and 1, you can use a word processor or spread sheet (eventually with a macro) to change the value.
Best regards,
Ness

Hi,
Sorry if my explanation is not clear
If you don’t calibrate on the CNC don’t use oversizing, set it to zero so that cutting list show the correct sizes.
Set cutting list ASCII export to net if your edge bander does not calibrate the edge before applying the edge band or overall if the edge bander calibrates the edge before applying the band.
If machining with edging applied, in the Post Processor, set Dimensions to Overall Dimensions.
Can you give me a screen shot for Rotation I don’t understand?
Hi Alex,
Thanks for the quick reply…
The over size option may not work as we do not have edge in all sides…. (have I understood correctly..?)
However… I could get cutlist with edgeband or without using the net dim or the overall dim.
The problem is when i take the net dimensions in the cutting list an the Overall dimensions in the CNC files the files names are not matching to the corresponding parts.
Also the part rotation is giving as “1” no rotation and ‘0’ for yes rotation which should be the other way around
Regards 🙂

Hi,
Could you see if these options correspond to your needs
Post edit:
More in detail.
1* You cut your cabinet part with thickness of edge deducted, you put the edge band without milling by edgbanding machine, then you drill on the CNC
you must use Net dim in the debit option and overall in Post-Pro
2* you cut your cabinet part without thickness of edge, you put edge band with milling by edgebanding machine, then drilling on CNC
you must use Overall dim in debit option and Post-Pro
All the best, Alex
Hi
We are using polyboard satisfactorily. Now we have a problem
1. We do the cutting of panels on a panel saw and drilling in a cnc after edgebanding. for which we need the cutting dimensions and the programme files to be exported in a csv file.
We face the following problems
a. If we use the rapport file for cutting list we get the dimensions as overall dimensions as we have set it that way so the drilling function is done after edge banding.
b. When we use the rapport file the parts that have two side machining are shown twice
c. If we decide to use the cutlist option, the part rotation is giving as “1” no rotation and ‘0’ for yes rotation which should be the other way around
d. Also in the cutlist option the programme files are not the corresponding ones and there are mis matches in programmes with the part.
Kindly give us the best solution for cutting list without edge, prog files corresponding should have overall dimensions and match the part in the csv file
Thanks in advance
