Hello Nadeem,

We intentionally select smaller sized textures to prevent this problem. Possibly cropping your textures and reducing their size may help, although image quality will noy be as high.

Additionally, PolyBoard 8 has slightly improved capabilities in handling these larger projects.

Regards,

Isaac

Hello Isaac,

In continuation of the topic above, we have come across a hurdle. I am attaching a texture file that is about 218 kb, we need to create a lot of textures which is making the library very heavy. When we see textures supplied by you, they are only 2kb, if we further try to reduce the size of the jpg file the output in polyboard becomes pixlated.

Please guide us how to reduce the files size and still maintain picture quality.

Ragards,

Nadeem.

Hi Nadeem,

The first step I recommend is examining your 3D elements. Your PolyBoard files appear to be quite large; in comparison, I couldn’t find any of my own files exceeding 4.5MB, while the kitchen file you shared is approximately 15MB. This size difference likely stems from using a significant number of 3D elements, many of which are likely substantial in size. I suggest testing the removal of these 3D elements and then, if you’d like to retain them, replacing them with more lightweight alternatives.
This is why we recommend making as many of your 3D elements as possible in PolyBoard, as it doesn’t place as much strain on the program as externally sourced 3D models. If you are importing 3D models, reduce the amount of faces and segments on the models where possible.

We have additional information regarding 3D elements on our help centre, see the following link:

https://wooddesigner.org/help-centre/polyboard-handles-specialist-fittings-3d-accessories/

Additionally, make sure you are using the latest version of PolyBoard, 7.12d.

Let me know how you go.

Regards,

Isaac

Hello Issac,

1. What computer are you using and what version of PolyBoard are you running?
Attached Screen Shot of Computer configuration.WhatsApp-Image-2024-12-26-at-15.38.45_57e444fb.jpgImage Enlarger

2. What colours are your materials prominently using in the library? Are there lots of darker colours set to your materials?

This mostly depends on customer likes, however this particular file has no texture, light colors are used.

3. What occasions/actions are generally causing crashes?

We are not sure, sometimes just to change a fitting, or change the shelf size, any any small changes in the design. The crashes cannot be reproduced!, next time we try similar steps and it may still be working.

Regards,

Nadeem.

Hello,

Attached is a sample file, whenever the project size exceeds a certain limit, Polyboard crashes approximately 4-5 times in an hour!. Our library file is 1.5 GB, if required please share a link where I may upload that file. Please let us know what we are doing wrong?

Regards,

Nadeem
