We Optimize through Optinest only

Our new edge bander will be setup to mill the edge thickness i.e. 1mm edge 1mm mill, 2mm edge 2mm mill.

However we will be keeping one of our existing edge banders as back up which does not mill.

Dave

Hi,

To be sure, I need to know your whole process.

For information,

With Nesting solution, PolyBoard > OptiNest

Milling of parts with edge thickness deductions > PostPro setting to Net Dim.

Milling of parts without edge thickness deductions > PostPro setting to OverAll Dim.

With a part-by-part solution, PolyBoard > OptiCut

Pre-cutting part with Oversizing > sizing and drilling on CNC > Edge bander with pre mills

PB cutting list option Net Dim for OC, edges thickness 0mm! > CNC PP setting OverAll Dim

Net Dim = OverAll Dim – edges thickness + Oversizing

For exemple,

parts 600x600mm with 5mm oversizing and edges 2mm

The part in the cut list is 601×601, which leaves only 1 mm for the part size on the CNC instead of 2.5 mm per panel edges.

All the best, Alexandre

Thanks Alexandre

We were wondering if we change the Post-Processing Properties – General – Dimensions – Overall Dimensions (instead of Nett Dimensions)

Presuming this will give us an option to flick between Pre Mill to cut Edge Thickness if needed

Regards

Dave

Hi,

To avoid conflicts with panel cutting or machining

the easiest solution is to set edge thickness to 0mm

All the best, Alexandre
