Hi again,
I'd just like to add a remark to my last post.
Personally if I was you I wouldn't downgrade to the v6. Although there were a few bugs in the first release of v7 the developer team has been working hard to repair these. All new software releases will have some bugs but we now have a version 7.01j that is fairly bug free. So if you haven't already done it do update your version.
A part from loosing functionality, downgrading is not recommended for several reasons:
- v6 is no longer supported so no more modifications or updates
- as software evolves from version to version your update price will increase
- at one point you will find that the software will not be up datable and you will need to buy a full new version.
As I understand as v7 can read v6 files it you should still be able to use v6 free version in parallel with v7 to design and calculate prices.
These are only my personal feelings about the question and I will ask the editor if he's willing to downgrade.
Best regards,
Ness

Hi Paul,
This is not in our hands, I'll ask the editor to see if he agrees to down grade your software.

Hi Paul,
I'm very sorry about this but we do not have control over what the editor does with his software.
If you need to design and have prices using catalog mode I'd suggest you continue using v6, you can then always load the project into v7 and get your manufacturing documents.
I consider that the free version has already amazing functionality for a free product and allowing a free version to calculate prices should be considered a great gift what ever the version.
If you really have to have the prices in a v7 you should consider buying a Polyboard Pro at -50%, which I think is also a very reasonable price for a professional piece of software.

Ness

Hi Ness this is not acceptable.. this is the main reason why i desided to use pb and it was specifically stated in email long ago... and also i upgraded and wasnt informed on this.. also i cannot use pb7 and openthe models in pb6.. this is a huge problem for me... i have done all my planning around this fact ...
What can I do?
regards
paul

Hi Paul,
Unfortunately the developers have dis-activated this function in Polyboard 7.
So if using V7 you'll need the full version to get prices, otherwise you need to keep using v6.
Keep in mind that additional full licences are sold at -50% discount so the investment should break the bank.

Hi Both,
For information, it's possible to get prices from the demo mode.
Save the project or cabinet to your hard disk, go to "File>New catalogue".
In the catalogue list, click right and choose "Add" and add your project/cabinet.
The project/cabinet will be added to the list and Polyboard will show prices calculated from the prices you have set up in the libraries.
In the catalogue you can change the cabinet quantities, sizes and manufacturing methods and Polyboard will update the prices.
This make the free version a really cool free tool for presentations and cost calculations.
Cheers,
Ness

Hi,
In demo you don't have access to dimensions
But you can can setup libraries on each post by lan or copy all library folders post by post
And define them in the menu>Tools>Folders>Parametres
this attached screen shows you an example of folders you need to copy to each post
Here you can copy all "polyboard-pro.en" Folders
Cheers, Alexandre
