Morning Isaac,

Attached is the updated project file with following changes:

– cutting list options were updated to meet workshop requirements (sequence of columns, it is). In case this is a Polyboard configuration not saved with the project data I am providing the sequence: Hight, Width, Quantity, Reference, Material, Cabinet, Project, Top Edge Material, Bottom Edge Material, Left Edge Material, Right Edge Material, Tooling file first face, tooling file second face)

– few naming corrections

The above corrections should be sufficient to create the list of panels with edge banding. The biggest problem however is with HOMAG – the dxf files are 2D and can not be used for further processing. Can you export 3D files for each individual panel separately?

Other point, can you provide pdf files that could be used during assembly? Some overall views with panels naming, or anything?

I am also strongly considering investing into mpr post processor. Can you give me more details – what are the costs? Please note, I will be using this to create files for an outsourced workshop so this investment is a high risk for me. Could this software, within same license be configured to potentially work with multiple CNC?

Please advise.

Hi,

See attached your manufacturing files. Note, I set the panel export to Overall Dimensions. Let me know if this is not what you require.

See our online store here, feel free to contact out customer support team at [email protected] for further information.

Best regards,

Isaac

hope this time the file was attached correctly

for the post processor license, I guess this should be rather cost of the workshop, but out of curiosity what is the fee?

thanks for the hint on edge banding – this of course makes sense.

Hi,

Thank you for your post. It looks like your file was not attached—please try uploading it again, and I’ll be happy to provide you with the manufacturing files.

When exporting .mpr files from PolyBoard, you can set up a Post Processor that aligns with your machine's specifications, including tooling identification and export settings. This ensures seamless integration with your CAM software.

If you’re interested in purchasing a license to generate your own .mpr post processor, feel free to contact us. We'd be happy to offer you a free software demonstration.

Additionally, within your Post Processor settings, you can choose to export files using either Net Dimensions or Overall Dimensions:

– Net Dimensions account for edge banding by adjusting for thickness.

– Overall Dimensions export the full panel size, without adjustments.

This method ensures proper handling of edge banding without setting it to zero thickness.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
Isaac

I am testing process of designing cabinets using your PolyBoard software and services of one of the workshops in my area. The workshop will cut panels, band edges and mill all cutouts. The idea is to maximize automations so once the design is done, the workshop would receive all files required for fabricating panels.

For cutting and edge banding BOM or other detailed cut list should be sufficient at this time, optionally optiCut output would be considered later.

All milling will be made using HOMAG BHX055 which requires .mpr file for its woodWOP software – what details are needed to generate those files?

There is one key question: While applying edging at the workshop, the panel is cut to the finish size and then the edge bander mills off panel by the band thickness ensuring the panel is same size before and after edging. This has been stipulated in PolyBoard by using Edge profile with its thickness set to null. Please confirm this will generate your manufacturing files with correct panel sizes, or suggest alternative method.

Attached is the walk-in closet project. Please provide manufacturing files.
