Hello Tarjei,
When configuring sliding door fittings, you can assign different fittings to the top and bottom panels when they’re linked with sliding doors. The same applies when linking them with shelves. If you require different fittings, it may be worth creating separate shelf types specifically for the top and bottom panels within a sliding door system.
One limitation to be aware of is that the groove will be applied across the full length of the panel. To work around this, you’ll need to create the grooves manually as Inner Toolings.
You may also find it helpful to save these inner tooling setups in your structures library and then manually adjust the groove lengths as needed.

Hi,
We are working with integration of manufacturing methods for sliding doors. Three factors make it complicated.
1. We need the the top and bottom panel grooves to be different sizes.
2. We want to be able to apply doors between shelves
When we fit the doors to top and bottom there is no issue in fitting links. We can link top to door with groove size A and bottom to door with groove size B.
But when we fit the doors in between two shelves there is no option to have two different sized grooves linked to the shelf. We can only make a shelf to door fitting link, without differentiation of top and bottom. We would have to adjust one of them manually every time we apply a door.
Our solution is to define the sliding door between shelves as “single door” instead of “sliding door”, and link groove size A to “fitting side” and groove size B to “open side”. However now the sliding door options in Door Sub Method are not available, and we have to figure out slack and dimensions manually by applying recesses.
So either we need to fix the grooves manually, or the doors manually. Is there another fix for this?
3. We also wish that “sliding door” had the possibility of adding just 1 groove and 1 door, instead of being forced to add 2. We work with these types of designs. Now we have to work around this by making a fitting with only one track, and just remove one of the two doors from our cutting list and production. Is there a way to change this in the software instead?
