Hi, I understand now!

Don’t use Inner tooling to create Top rail!

Use Surface Split!

Example with your cab.

To start I have deleted the Structure on Top,

After apply surface split like in this screenshot

This method doesn’t delete the edge on the front

If you want to add an edge, you need to edit the Surface Split and select edge here,

After making the middle Nil you can add the structure to the lib, and add into Materials Style to have this when you create a new cab,

Hope that’s helpful,

Cheers, Alex

Sorry not all steps were attached try – see updated attachments

Hi Alex

see attached pdf screen shots showing our method of creating top rails and applying edging to the front rail.

hope this helps

as it shows we end up with rails as we want but the front rail ends up edged to ‘all’ edges when we only require one front edge.

is there anyway of creating rails with edging to one edge only

regards

Hi

We have created top rails for our library of module base cabinets (see attachment). we have done this by applying a library structure (created – top rail) and changing mid section nil material. Not sure if this is the best or correct method but to add edging to front rail we can only do this we could find is to select rail – inner tooling – edit – select rail – add edging to Edging (Inner Tooling).

Hope this makes sense

But the issue with this method is the edging goes on ‘all’ edges and not just the seen front edge, found this out when the factory was coming to us saying the front rails are not long enough.

Can you please let me know the best method for creating rails where we can add edging to one edge only

regards

Dave
