Updating libraries|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER
January 20, 2017
Hi Tom,
It is indeed a bit confusing. I will try to answer as detailed as possible with my limited English.
1* Update of Polyboard 7.0x software to 7.08M for the currently available version. Update of the internal components of the software, bug correction and customization/adaptation of the software (subject to feasibility and quote)
2* Quick Design Libraries, is not an update of the database but a complete or partial new installation depending on the option chosen
Before any action, always make backup before 😉
How do I save and restore my settings?
System > Infernal emergency backup
Environment > Software setting, Post-Pro, Printing, Panels names, …
Methods > All libraries of Methods, Sub methods and fittings
Materials > Libraires
Textures > …..
The different options :
A – You install it in the same folder as before. It will replace that file older than ours
B – You install it in a new folder. It will copy all new files in this folder and replace the path in PolyBoard (without erasing your previous folder)
> Link Quick Design libraries to Polyboard
If you only need a few items, you can change the Methods folder between the old and new ones.
That is to say, either from the new methods, create a cabinet with a method and restore it in the old or reverse
Restoring by duplicate option a method restores all attached sub-methods
But you should also take into account that our new methods are also “reworked” according to new parts added.
Which are updated with the environment installation option
If you need news fittings from news methods, you can also export them as *.XLM files and import them into your current libraries.
And if your ToolBars are broken, like Quick Design install, Closed PolyBoard first, then install Restore-QD-ToolBars-en
available from Polyboard libs v 7.4 > Setup folder
Hope that’s helpful, Alex

Hello,
I’m sorry to ask what has probably been answered many times, however… I have my own libraries that are located on a Dropbox folder, I have updated downloaded the most updated version of Polyboard and the quick design libraries. When I go back into Polyboard and rename the folders preferences back to the Dropbox folder most of the toolbars are no longer available. Please can you let me know what I am doing wrong?
Can you also let me know how I can keep my existing libraries and add any new ones from the updated libraries without overriding the existing?
Kind regards
Tom
