Hello Craig,

Your subscription allows one project per month, although I will make an exception in this situation.

Please make the required changes and upload a new project file. I will then provide you with new files.

Regards, Isaac

Hi Isaac,

I’m trying to source materials for my stair design but I’m struggling to get the dimensions I used on the parameters. I can get 25mm treads and some pre cut wedeges at 4 degrees but I would have to change this on the design. Would I be able to change this and request the files updated or is that a lot of hassle? I’m planning on getting the 1:1 scale templates so I need them to match the materials.

Thanks

Craig

Craig,

From what I can see, I believe that this is much better.

When you confirm that you are finished, I will provide you with the required files.

Best regards, Isaac

Hello Craig,
You can adjust these in the parameters. You will need to adjust both the step/stringboard links and the newel post/stringboard links.
See the following image:

Hi Isaac,

Thanks for the information. I’ve adjusted those parameters and gone through the other parameters in the links section. Is there anything else you think I need to take into consideration? Do you think the joinery will be ok and not clash in any parts?

I’ve attached the updated design.

Thank you

Craig

Hello Craig,
Two more points to consider:
1. This project has standard strings, not cut strings. Cut strings are internal stringers placed under the steps, rather then externally placed as yours are.
2. I can see your steps are penetrating 30mm into the strings. The stringboard is only 32mm in thickness. Please confirm if you are happy with this design.
Best regards, Isaac

Hi Isaac,

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t realise they penetrated 30mm. I think 10mm would be better. How do I change that?

Thanks

Craig

Hello Craig,
Two points to consider
1. Overall width does not measure as 2430mm.

2. Banister diameter is not 14mm.

Please confirm/adjust as you require. Let me know when you are finished and I can provide you the files.

Hi Isaac,

Thanks for reviewing the design. I had made an error on the overall length, the stud wall had been changed so the actual measurement on site is 2300mm. I’m not sure how to change that measurement on the software but its coming out a 2280mm so maybe just leave it at that?

I’ve changed the spindle thickness.

When I try to open the 2D plan view it says ‘There is no cut string’. Is there a problem with the string? Are all the housings ok on the strings? I did widen each string slightly to accomodate the housings.

I’ve attached the updated design for review.

Thank you

Craig
