I have re-attached the video.

Let me know if it doesn’t answer your question.

Hi Issac, thanks for the video links. Vimeo link doesnt work though.

I know how to set up the Headroom controls etc. My question is then why am i still getting 20-50mm differences in height clearance on site, even with all control values edited and calculated. If you look at my picture properly you’ll see the clearance being measure along the pitch off the stairs not on a step, this is my dilemma, if im doing something wrong, or is there another way for this to be set up, because the clearance StairDesigner gives me is from the Nose of the Step to the under side of the Infringement. and that height is correct on every site. But once you measure the clearance from along the pitch of the stair, as i’ve attached then theres the 20-50mm difference which does not comply with NZ Building Code.

I know how to set up the headroom control, however in New Zealand, Headroom Clearance is measured (on the blue line) as shown on the file attached and as you can see, the measurement is taken along the pitch of the Staircase, not from a step itself. I’ve also attached another file from an actual job we had a few weeks ago, and had to gain permission from the Building Engineer himself to shave off some of the Infringement to comply because of a 50mm difference. In some of my recent projects the headroom has been short by 20-50mm, and the Building Inspectors love to press this matter all the time, so we’ve had to go into sites again and shave off the Infringements on an angle to comply. I am wondering how the Headroom Control is actually supposed to work and from where to where does it take its measurements for said Clearance, as it is becoming a nuisance having to waste time back at sites because of 20-50mm Infringements. the Minimum Headroom Clearance in New Zealand for Residential Housing is 2000mm. I’ve tried allowing 2100mm Headroom clearance but majority of our house ceiling height are around 2730mm so there’s not much i can play with before the pitch of the StairCase becomes to steep, or the riser becomes too big (over 190mm), or the Tread becomes too small or too big (250-300mm).

Could someone advise please.

Thanks

Yohaan
