Hidden construction in wall|Forum|WOOD DESIGNER

Hi Vanessa, we’ve got details of some businesses who may be able to help. I’ll email you their details. All the best, Stefan
Hi Ness,
Thank you for your reply. It is a little disheartening, but that’s life.
I will speak to the Builders tomorrow who were going to make it.
(I wanted to make the right stringer a continuous peice, and notch it into the Construction wall, but didn’t know how to model this in the program.)
I will get back to you tomorrow to probably just have file converted and be done With it.
And get someone in to sort it for me.
Thanks
Vanessa

Hello Vanessa,
Sorry to reply so late but as Stefan has told you, I’ve been away last week.
Looking at the photos of your project I think you should reconsider your design taking into account that StairDesigner should be used only to model the stair and not the walls and existing beams.
Taking this into consideration the right stringer should be made as one continuous part and notched into the post rather that as several parts assembled into the existing posts.
This and many other construction details will need to be seen to before your project can become a workable plan.
The way you move forwards will depend on what your objective is.
If you only want to get an approximate design set up to see how you stair will look and then get it built by a professional stair builder, I’d suggest that you request the 3D SketchUp files for your stair and use SketchUp to build the environment.
Please note that this forum is a support forum where we can help you over some hurdles but we cannot train you up as a fully qualified and experienced stair builder. So with this in mind, if your objective is to get professional working drawings to build this stair I’d strongly suggest that you buy our Stair Plan service here:
https://wooddesigner.org/stair…..n-service/
Like this Michel or myself can take the time to look closely at the technical problems involved and suggest some appropriate design options.
The problem is that your project is complex and you’ll need an experience stair builder to work out all the details to make a professional job of building this stair.
Hope this is not too discouraging for you as I see that you have put a lot of work into your design and might be hoping to get some full working drawings.
We can of course send you the DXF files for the design as it is and you’ll certainly have some elements that you could work with.
best regards,
Ness

Hi Vanessa, it’s 1 each month, they cannot be built up over time. Thanks, Stefan

Hi Vanessa, do you mean creating the 1:1 templates of the stair? This takes quite a bit of work and is an optional part of the file processing service (it doesn’t cost any extra though).
You have access to one file processing each month, so it probably best that you get everything done together. However, if you still want just those templates for your allocation this month, just let us know. Even if you do though, we will need Ness to check over the project quickly first and then process the templates.
Thanks, Stefan
Hi Stefan,
No problem,
Would you be able to convert the last file for me into the cutting shapes.
So that I can make the stairs out of paper and check how they fit in the house, incase there are any other details I need to change before Ness helps me With the final soltion.
Thanks
Vanessa

Hi Vanessa, thanks for sending these details and files through. I’ll ask Ness to take a look as he is leading on your project. There is likely to be a longer delay than usual in replying, Ness is out installing a CNC machine this week.
Please accept my apologies for this.
