Hi John,
Nice to see you on the forum.
For a good (and free) CAD software I suggest you down load Draftsight our free CAD software.
The down load link is available on the Sketchup and Draftsight down load page here:
https://wooddesigner.org/membe…..raftsight/
Draftsight is very similar to AutoCad or other basic CAD. If you know AutoCad you don’t need any help using it.
However if you don’t know AutoCad or other standard CAD, don’t forget to down load also the “Getting started with Draftsight” document using the link at the bottom of the page. I would suggest you read it through to understand the basics before our training session.
Wednesday at 3pm UK time would be ok with me, how long would you like to reserve (2 hours max.) ?
So as not to waste time, please install Team Viewer before hand.
You can use the link from our Team Viewer page here:
https://wooddesigner.org/teamv…..-set-up/
It will also be useful if Team Viewer is installed on the computer you will be designing on as well as the computer that runs the CNC so that I can have a look at how the MasterWood software reads the StairDesigner output.
Looking forwards to seeing you Wednesday.
All the best,
Ness
hello Ness
I have a stair design that im happy with and I would like to take it to the next stage, that is to export the design to a cad program in order to make any final alterations and show the sizes of timber we need to prepare for the masterwood cnc machine.
so I need to know what cad program to download, bearing in mind we will need to create mortice and tenons at the posts and to change the wall string joint from a mitre to a stepped half joint.
if possible Wednesday 27th after 3pm uk time would be good for me. or any time Thursday 28th or even tomorrow although I realise that is very short notice.
regards
john payne
