Hi Rob, as you've posted here, I'm sure you've seen the explanation of the process to follow below, including a link to our FAQs page for more information.

Just to confirm, the free/demo version of Polyboard allows you to design in full. The only thing you cannot do is generate your cut list and plans.

So you don't necessarily have to move the activated version from your desktop to your laptop. If you design on a computer with the free version of Polyboard, you can always open up the design file on the computer with the activated version to output the manufacturing documents.

If you do want to move the activated version, can you send us the codes on 2nd January so we can process them for you without a delay.

All saved designs and your Polyboard Quick Design libraries will remain on the computer you uninstall from. However, we always advise storing backups of both before going ahead with any change like this, and on a regular basis anyway...you never know.

If you end up wanting to use 2 computers to design, it is very helpful to share your Quick Design libraries across them. We find creating a shared Dropbox folder for the libraries is a good way to do this.

For now, if you have your own custom QD libraries and don't want to just download again from our website, copy it across from your old computer and point the new Polyboard install to them (Tools > Folders > Parameters).

Thanks and happy holidays...

Hi Stefan,

I decided to move the software to a laptop from my desktop computer. I see the procedure about removing the software first from my desktop to get the user code. When I do this, will all my current work on Polyboard remain or be deleted? I just want to make sure I don't lose everything first.

Thank you.
Happy Holidays!
Rob

Hi everyone, I know Carole has contacted Paul direct, but just to confirm here as well for all:

There is an Uninstall.exe file that comes with your software installation. It can be found in the following folder:

'Program Files/Boole & Partners/Software name (StairDesigner or Polyboard etc)'

When you click and run this file, your software will uninstall completely, and you will be give an uninstall code. This is what we need to know you've removed the software and the licence from your computer.

Then install the free/demo version of the software on the new computer, and send us the user code for that too.

That's all we need, we'll then send you an activation code for the new computer.

Please do not perform a standard Windows uninstall, this will not give you the uninstall code.

Please see this page for more information: https://wooddesigner.org/faqs/

Thanks very much
