Hi Robin,

I forgot to add the templates as you also ordered them. Here is the PDF file for them. This is based on a 900mm wide paper

Ok I see. I have walls on all 4 stringers, thats why i decided to use this method for easier assembly.

The last version uploaded in this post is with 30mm penetration. Also i will be making the stringer angle cuts for the shims with a template.

I am ready for my cup list.

Can i have both the PDF and DXF?

Best regards

Robin.

Hi Robin,

This method is mainly used with stairs sitting between walls. The build-up is done from behind and the stringers a fastened to the walls and have nowhere to go. A stand-alone stair however I would certainly advise having a screw connection even from the inside to secure the position of the stringer.

Between walls, a 30mm penetration is not a problem as the stringer is supported by the walls but stand-alone requires a strong stringer and such deep penetration on a stinger of 40mm weakens the stringboard rigidity.

SD also has the shim feature (wedging) so it can be interesting for you. You can activate this in the  Links parameters // Step/stringboard links in the properties screen on the right side of your screen. Default is a 4° angle that is adjustable.

Before I get the file from you…

I am doing the shims method (picture) when fastening the threads/risers. Then it would be better to use 30mm penetration? I am not fastening any of the threads from the outside of the stringer, just shims and glue from the underside.shimsTemplate.jpgImage Enlarger

I changed the penetration from 30 to 20mm, im goin to fasten each thread with shims, so need that for propper contact.

Also i dont need the riser to insert in the thread above, will fasten it from behind to secure it.

I have uploaded the finalversion in this post. I have made an adjustment on the floor hight from 2746mm to 2729mm, and also the penetration to 20mm.

Hi Robin,

I had a look and the stair looks ok.

I just advise you to reduce the step penetration into the stringer to 15mm instead of 30mm as the stringer is a thickness of 41mm. The rule of thumb is approx 1/3 of the thickness on penetrations. If you agree send me the corrected stairfile with your reply to this post.

Also, penetration from the riser upper side into the step (upper offset) of 10mm to secure a good connection.

Here is the top view with measurements so that you can have a final check and confirm your documents and PDF 1/1 templates.
