Hi Ness,
I like the last design stev01v03-3d01.png. I won’t bother with the complications of recalculating the stairs this design is fine.
The only addition I can think of would be a cut off newal post under the lower landing (step 2) on the right to take the continuous rail post.
Just to anchor the end of the rail.

As the steps are joined to the risers they will not bend but aesthetically they would be better a bit thicker.
I wouldn’t bother putting another stringer.
In the actual version of StairDesigner you can’t make the right string into a cut string.while leaving the other right strings boxed.
You can however add a cut string to the right hand side creating both boxed and cut strings on this side.
You then just ignore the inappropriate parts in the plans and cutting lists.
To put a cut string on the right you have to give a negative offset equal to the thickness of the string ie:-32
The 3D model will not display the cut string as it’s mixed with the boxed string.
You can see it if you turn the boxed string off, however turning it off will recalculate the stair and you’ll have to set up the landings etc again.
the images below show both the string board and the cut string in the manufacturing documents.

Yes that design is much better.
I wondered if the steps would be thick enough not to flex with two stringers and have bought enough timber for an additional stringer up the middle if you think it would help.
I am still having trouble making the string on the right of the first step into a cut string.

You stair looks good.
I would tweak a little bit you design :
- putting the posts under the steps so that the landing steps are not cut by the post and the upper handrail post can be just assembled onto the landing
- move the nosings on the landing steps so that the risers are not too near the face of the posts. This will make housing them into the post easier.
The only other point I would question would be the thickness of your steps.
They are actually at 21mm which is not much if you are planning on having just naked wooden steps. I usually consider 30mm to be a minimum.

Thank you for your speedy design.
I have been trying to modify it, by removing the raiils and banisters ( apparently a continuous rail can be provided to fit the stairs on this design) also I have not yet suceeded in making the right hand string on the first step into a cut string. (see attached).
Height wise, I think the minimum is about 177.5cm over step 3, but I am not sure how or where this is measured in practice.

Hi Stev,
Had a look a your project and have set you up a template that should work.
I haven’t yet verified the head room with the slanting joist so we might have to adjust a bit the design.
Tell me what you think.
Note that StairDesigner as you can see will give a good approximation of the cut strings but the assembly details of the joints with the posts will need to be drawn up by hand .
The goose necked rails and volutes can’t be designed in StairDesigner so these too will have to be added by hand.

Sorry about that, I did try to send them. I will try again:)
On sheet 7, I have extra stock to make the LH cut strings 446mm or even 600mm . I also have extra stock to allow for transitions on the RH from stairs to landing and around the bottom landing.
I have found the reason for the error, in that each of the files exceeds the maximum allowed size to upload, so they were not accepted by your server:(
I will try to compress them and try again.
