Hi Michael,
I got confirmed what I was thinking and they suggest the same solution I gave you. They will look into it for future releases.
Hello Michel,
This definitely looks like an unstable situation, and we will look into it,
but probably not in the short term.Besides its winding profile is very close to what we get by setting straight
the 2 steps N° 5 and N° 9 , (cf. “Variant_2”), so perhaps Customer should
use this variant stair.

Hi Michael,
It is probably an out of reach situation due to the fact that the steps can not longer move and the slider is still not at max. This can cause a calculation failure and shut down. I will have this checked by the developers to see what they think of it.
You can make your step straight with a right-click on the step nose to select and then choose straight step.
In your stair you can select step 5 and 9 to make them straight. All steps in between will be set as straight also.
If you select a step that technically can not be set straight you will get the message ” step move failed”.
This is probably what happens with the sliders but here it seems that it can be forced and creates a shut down.
I think you can fix your stair problem with the individual step selection.
I keep you posted

Hi Michel,
Thanks for coming back so fast.
I’m running Stair Designer 7.12
So when I use the sliders that configure the winding, I always slide both of these to 100, as we want square treads up the flight, and winding treads in the corners only.
Everything else seems to work ok, I can play about with the links, treads, risers all in the noormal way but when I slide the first slider, fine I can take it to 100, and it doesnt matter which one I slide first, its ok, then when i do the second, it freezes at 72, then the programme just shuts down.

Hi Michael,
Please send me your stair file before it shuts down and explain what you were doing. Also, let me know which version of SD you have.

Michel
