Hi all,

Michel is correct in saying that StairDesigner can’t create tapered housing for wedging steps and risers.

These have to be added to StairDesigner DXF files one by one in CAD.

We are considering adding this functionality in later versions of StairDesigner 7 but not delivery dates are fixed as of yet.

best regards,

Ness

Hi John,

Not sure to understand your point. You cannot create a template in Stairdesigner. The only way is to have the option created in the program

stringers can be edited but only the outline shape of it (SD7) . in stairdesigner 6 there is the possibility to have a riser bottom lengthening and the back of the step lengthening in the dxf output but no angle to created the wedge.

You can edit the stringers dxf parts in a cad program to create a wedge room.

regards

Michel

is it possible to edit the stringer to make room for a wedge and then save it as a template?

Hi John,

Also, on this one this is not an available feature yet in stairdesigner. Ness can advise if this is a future feature to be added

regards

Michel

is it possible to have the stringer board routed out so that the rabbited part where the tread/step goes is tapered so that when you assemble the stairs, a wedge can driven under the step where it mates in the rabbited part in the stringer board to provide a snug fit for the step
