Hi Stefan,

Here are your manufacturing files.

Sorry to get back so late but with the Christmas holidays I haven’t been able to get much time on my computer.

I hope the files are OK for you and that you enjoy building your stair.

Don’t hesitate to post any questions and we’d love to see how your project progresses.

All my best wishes for 2015 and I hope all you projects work out well.

Thanks Ness.  Just the manufacturing documents for that file will be adequate for me as is.

This will be a funny little job (not to code) for attic access in tight space.  I have 16″ lvl for the stringers but will probably cleat the steps and won’t use the banister/handrails generated as there are walls on both sides.

Hi Stefan,

Thank you very much for sending me your stair design.

Before I send you back your manufacturing documents I would just like to be sure that your design is definitely what you want.

I have looked over it and found a few errors that will make it difficult to build. Here’s a list of a few of the points that you must correct before having a coherent project:

  1. Add a landing step,
  2. add newel posts
  3. make the left string curved and not straight
  4. over pass the strings at the top and bottom
  5. decrease string to nose distance
  6. diminish string width
  7. add riser to step assembly details
  8. add step and riser string penetration

I can send you your manufacturing documents now if you like. Instead though, please consider adjusting the design and request your manufacturing documents again.

The other option is to order our StairFile Pro service, exclusive to Full members. Again, please start a new discussion on the forum, but this time I’ll revise your project for you before sending you the manufacturing documents so you know it is workable and easy to build.

If you’d like to order StairFile Pro (the cost is £95), log in then go to this page:

If you have any other questions before proceeding, please post them here.

Thank you again for joining the Wood Designer Community and requesting your StairFile service.

Have a great end of year celebration and wishing you all the best for 2015.
