Hi,

Thanks again for the modifications. I had to balance between landing step and free space in front of the first step => no landing step this time.

I made some modifications to finalise the look and dimensions.

Please send me the cad files of v2.

Br,

Risto

Hi Risto ,

Adding a landing step of 70mm is a good dimension and does not affect the handrail shape. If you then can extend the first flight with 70mm you are back in the 250 as run. Offcourse the stringer correction will have to be redone.

regards

Michel

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the modifications.

I can use 3-axis cnc and hand tools, but still want to use straight shapes for stringerboards. I’ll try to add the landing step, construction code requires run to be >=250mm.

I’ll check the design later today.

Hi Risto,

Overall it is a good technical stair but I changed some parameters

Why are you not using a landing step? This is always a good way to connect your stair with the upper-floor

1 the left stringer on the first flight is replaced with a cutstringer

2 the stringer behind the first left newel is changed to close the gap on the floor

3 newel post 3 had a negative value and ended up below the floor. Corrected

4 corrected left stringboard 2. Due to customed version you loose the perpendicularity with the handrail. This can be restored by manual adding the angle and afterwards making corrections. I kept straight lines as I am not sure you can work with curved lines in your production of the stair (use of cnc or not). Step 4 is now also included in the stringboard.

5 right stringboards 1and 2 also corrected on shape and interconnection

6 right handrail 1 and 2 changed to straight per part for better interconnection and flow with the stringers below

7 connections of stringboards and cutstringer with newels changed to mortise.

8 removed penetrations of handrails with newel posts

9 step penetrations on stringboards and newels set to 10mm. Penetration of the mortises in newels set to 15mm.

10 I would also penetrate the riser in the step for 10mm.

Let me know your findings on this design

Michel

Hi Risto,

As I explained to you in my email, you got the error message because you didn’t use the same email address for your paypal payment and your Wood Designer registration on our website. Everything is ok now and you are correctly registered.

One of our experts will reply asap to your stair request.

Have a nice day.

Carole

Just to add that I will cut the upper left handrail and the glass horizontally above the 1st floor ceiling. That’s why the upper left handrail does not penetrate the upper newel post.

Also the landing step will not be installed.

Risto

Hi,

Ordered Premium support today, but got an error message after returning back from Paypal (502 bad gateway). Hope you can see my subscription.

Attached is my first stairs design. I have modified the design so that the first left newel post can be removed when assembling the stairs. I will manually modify the CAD file of the first step to chamfer the left side of the step. Also step #4 will require manual modification so it cannot be seen behind the stringboard. Or at least I could not find the way to do these modification in the Stairdesigner 7 🙂

Please send me the manufacturing files if the design looks good.
