Here is the reply from the developers

 

The ability of risers to follow the contour of the steps is a feature
under discussion, but which has not been decided yet as it raises
various technical issues due to the flexibility of step shaping.

Regarding baluster shaping, it is not in the short term plans.

Hi ,

I’ve been using Stairdesigner for nearly 12 months now and it’s very user friendly. Are there any plans to be able to add/create turned spindles to the software? And also is there any planned development for the risers to be able to follow the contour of shaped treads ?
