We are very happy to count among our new customers the Tercy Levillain Joinery in France.

Based in Saint-Malo, this Breton family business is more than a century old and is a real institution in the region with a well established reputation.

They have been able to adapt to changes in customer preferences and industry trends as furniture design has evolved and embraced new materials. Their work includes the restoration of antique furniture, and from custom-made contemporary furniture to smaller “handmade” projects.

Projects by Tercy Levillain

Continuing to develop their business, Tercy recently decided to build furniture design software into the production flow. Their requirements: it had to be easy to use, reliable, and allow a non-carpenter to design projects.

They decided upon PolyBoard combined with its Quick Design libraries.

The Design Team, new users of PolyBoard, explain below the reason for their choice and what they think of this furniture design application.

Us: Can you tell us in a few words your backgrounds?

Tercy: Our backgrounds vary. Carpenters and building specialists for the most part. Some of us have no advanced technical training in woodwork or know the assembly and manufacturing methods specific to this industry.

Us: Why did you choose PolyBoard?

Tercy: We needed software that would allow us to quickly make furniture with the right assembly details for us, and that allows us to have a manufacturing method that is error free once the plans are sent to the workshop.

Us: You have been using PolyBoard and its Quick Design libraries for a few months now. I know you also took one of our online training courses. So what is your verdict on PolyBoard?

Tercy: Frankly there’s nothing negative. PolyBoard exactly met our expectations. With the Quick Design libraries, our production methods are all set up: panel priorities, machining details, choice of materials and thicknesses and so on. We can quickly design new furniture, change the dimensions as required and output 3D presentations. All changes are instant. PolyBoard’s toolbars are also very handy and make the software more user-friendly.

Our training allowed us to learn the software very quickly. And because those sessions are recorded, we can watch them again if we forget how to use a specific feature. We got operational with the software very quickly, that’s what we and the management team expected.

Thank you to the Design Team at Tercy Levillain Joinery for agreeing to share their impressions of PolyBoard and the Quick Design libraries.

PolyBoard allows a real time saving in the design of your projects. You can use pre-set manufacturing methods and sub-methods in our libraries, adapt them, or create your own.
