How does your credit card instalment plan work?

We have partnered with Splitit to offer credit card based instalment plans for our products and services.

  • There is no fee
  • There are no credit checks
  • These plans can only be set up with Visa and Mastercard credit cards
  • Debit cards, American Express cards, and prepaid cards are not accepted

The information provided below is for general guidance, please refer to Splitit’s terms and conditions for full details, available here.

How does Splitit work?

A summary of the process is available from Splitit here

Each month, Splitit debits the monthly payment corresponding to your payment schedule and issues a new payment authorization for the total amount remaining. Payments are always taken from the credit card you use to set up the plan.

Authorization of the outstanding balance each month guarantees all future payments.

Are there any additional charges?

No. Splitit is a free payment solution with no fixed fees, service charges, interest or additional hidden charges.

What credit cards can I use with Splitit?

This service is only available for Mastercard and Visa credit cards. Debit cards, American Express cards, and prepaid cards are not accepted.

What happens to my credit score if I use Splitit?

Because Splitit uses your existing credit on your credit card, rather than additional credit, Splitit doesn’t have to notify credit reference agencies, so your credit score is not affected.

If one of your payment authorizations or one of your payments is declined, there is no impact on your credit score.

If you use your credit card to pay your instalments, Splitit helps you reduce the amount you owe on your credit card because your credit card company only charges you your monthly instalment fee through Splitit rather than the total amount due.

Who do I contact about my Splitit payments?

You can track your schedule, update your card details, and pay your entire schedule upfront on the Splitit customer portal. Your username is the email address you used when you made your purchase.

If you have a question regarding your payment plan, in the first instance contact Splitit.

If you have a question regarding your order, please contact us.

What happens to my payments if my card expires in the middle of my instalment plan or if I lose my card?

Prior to the expiry date, Splitit will send you an email to remind you to update your card. You can also update your card details at any time by logging into the Splitit customer portal.

I did not have sufficient funds on my card and the authorization or payment did not go through. What should I do?

If Splitit cannot successfully obtain an authorization that is due, Splitit will send you an email so you can resolve the issue with your card provider, and you can update your card details on the Splitit customer portal.

Splitit will continue to try your chosen card for the next 7 days.

If Splitit is still unable to receive your payment after this time, you will lose the right to make monthly payments and payment for the full outstanding amount of your plan will be withdrawn using the existing authorization. Your plan will then be complete.

Can I change the amount of my payment?

No. Purchases are divided into equal monthly payments and are billed automatically, so you must pay the agreed amount each month.

Can I change my payment date?

No. Once your instalment plan is set up, the monthly payment date cannot be changed.

Can I change my payment card?

Yes. Log in to the Splitit customer portal and click on the option to update your card.

If you can’t remember your password, you can reset it on the login page.

Can I delete my Splitit instalment plan early?

Yes. Log in to the Splitit customer portal and select the option to pay the outstanding balance. The full payment is taken from your card, the last 4 digits of which you can see on the screen.

If you would like to pay your full balance with another card, please update your card details.

When your plan has been paid in full, Splitit will send you an email to confirm.

How does Splitit appear on my credit card statement?

Each month, Splitit will charge the credit card of your choice with your monthly payment. Your credit card statement shows the amount charged and the name Wood Designer.

In addition, every month an authorization (hold) is taken for the entire unpaid amount of your purchase. These authorizations are not charges but are used to secure payments for your plan. They may appear as a pending transaction on your statement.

The amount authorized each month will decrease in line with your outstanding balance until your plan is paid for in full.

Can I cancel my purchase and stop my Splitit instalment plan?

Splitit has no authority to approve a cancellation.

Please note that, in accordance with Wood Designer Ltd’s terms and conditions, we do not offer refunds.
