Planning to use your DXF file in SketchUp?

You can import DXF files directly into the paid version of SketchUp.

However, if you want to use the free version of SketchUp, it cannot directly read DXF files.

Here are 2 work rounds:

  1. Export your 3D DXF design to progeCAD first, translate the file to a format that SketchUp can read like 3DS and then insert the file into SketchUp. You need the paid version of progeCAD to do this.
  2. If you don't want to buy progeCAD, download the trial of the full version of SketchUp which allows you to import your DXF file. Create a SketchUp file of your design and use this with the free version of SketchUp.
